Today, GeoSuffolk helped sort fossil leaves and stems from Eocene rocks which were dredged up from the river bed off Felixstowe in 1994.
Today SCH AONB volunteers and GeoSuffolk cleared faces of an overgrown Red Crag pit situated on private ground between Alderton and Ramsholt. It may be viewed from a public footpath and shows the classic contrast between the red geology and the green botany, well-loved by many Suffolk people. Thank you to all the diggers and clearers.
Our Suffolk 'forests' are still big news this month! For an update on the Pliocene Forest, plus an item on the Forest Bed and a report of the AONB management day at Butley Forest Pit CGS - and lots more - read GeoSuffolk Times no. 39.
