The Ipswich Society has put a blue plaque for Elizabeth Knipe Cobbold on the stable block in Holywells Park in Ipswich. This Georgian scientist lived here and collected fossil molluscs from the Red Crag on her estate (now Holywells and Landseer Parks). She sent specimens to James Sowerby in London and he published them between 1814 and 1824 in the Mineral Conchology, the first comprehensive publication on British fossils.
